Solar plant monitoring

Solar plant efficiency is vital for maximum profitability. For this reason, monitoring tools are being developed that make it possible to control the installation operation and to improve engineering concepts.

Technical description

The ASSYCE GROUP’s Department of Control and Telecommunications has carried out the design, installation and start-up of a monitoring and control system in photovoltaic plants with a current power of 22 MW.

This system provides an integral control solution intended specifically for the photovoltaic sector. The platform, whose development began in late 2008, is an excellent architectural solution for the equipment and operation of photovoltaic plants.

It offers solutions at all levels of photovoltaic sector management: acquisition, verification, processing, analysis, transmission and parameterisation of data from all devices integrating the production chain of a photovoltaic installation.

Software characteristics

  • Photovoltaic plant data monitoring in real time.
  • Storage of plant information in a database lodged in high-performance servers, for their subsequent processing with local interfaces or via web.
  • Graphic visualisation of the stored information stored, with energy and power graphs in different time scales: day, week, month and year.
  • Data evaluation and compiling of (comparative) statistics on the productions by the different plants, in different time scales.
  • Configuration adaptable to each client’s needs.

Supervision of energy generated:

  • Performance analysis.
  • Real production.
  • Sun equivalents and equivalent sun hours.
  • Inverter production.
  • Performance ratio (PR).
  • Active and reactive power reading.
  • Power loss identification.
  • Behaviour modelling of the plant.
